Distributing Timelime via Apple Volume Purchase Program
Hello,
we would like to purchase the Timelime App and distribute it via Apple Volume Purchase Program (VPP) to a wider range of devices. Hence the app only offers the in-app purchase option there is no way for us to purchase licences for the fully functional app via our MDM server using VPP.
Is it possible that you could put a app version to the app store that is non-free and already includes the paid functionality? If we could buy the app directly via App Store it will be possible for us to buy the licences and distribute the app via VPP.

I’m very happy to hear that you are planning to distribute the app in your company!
Are you talking about the iOS or macOS version of Timelime?
Uploading a “paid up front” version of the app is not that much extra work. However, it would also mean that two apps need to be updated every time I release a new version to the App Store, which over time compounds to quite an overhead. I’m trying to avoid this, so I wonder if there is an easier way.
I’m not familiar with VPP and MDM servers… Do In-App purchase promo codes work on your devices after you distribute the free version of the app?

vielen Dank für deine Antwort (dann auch gerne auf Deutsch weiter).
Wir interessieren uns erst einmal nur für die MacOS Version der App.
Für uns ist das auch der erste Fall einer App die wir über VPP verteilen
wollen die über In-App Käufe verfügt. Ein Kauf via Promo-Code wird bei
uns nicht möglich sein, da nicht jedem Gerät eine Apple-ID zugeordnet
ist. Die Geräte erhalten die Apps via VPP vollkommen unabhängig davon ob
ein Konto auf dem Gerät im App Store angemeldet ist. Kurzum: Auf den
Geräten sind keine Apple-IDs oder wenn die privaten Apple-IDs aktiv.
Leider scheint das ein generelles Problem zu sein was Apple
offensichtlich seit Jahren nicht lösen will. Es ist leider so, dass man
bis heute mit keiner MDM Server Lösung die Möglichkeit hat In-App Käufe
über VPP zu realisieren, weil Apple diese Funktion nie ins VPP
implementiert hat.
