It's confusing to press the standard Cmd+Q key combo assuming the app will quit, but instead only the main window will close.

The universal key combo to close a window (without quitting the app) is Cmd+W. Would be nice if this was used to close the main window and Cmd+Q would be used to quit the app.

Furthermore...

1. Make sure the main window is closed
2. Go up to the menubar and click to open the Timelime window popup
3. Click on the gear icon to bring up the popup menu
4. Now press Cmd+Q. At this point the Quit menu item is hilited, but obviously the program doesn't quit since no actual quit command is assigned to it.

    Hi Les,

The idea is that most people want the Timelime status item in the menu bar to be always visible. When you press Cmd+Q the main window will close, which also results in Timelime being removed from the Dock and the app switcher. Also the main menu in the menu bar is removed.
If you want to quit Timelime completely and remove the status item, right-click on the status item and choose “Quit Timelime” or quit it from the “gear" menu in the popup menu.
    I hope you understand.

Yes, this is a bit confusing. The “Quit Timelime" menu item is highlighted because it starts with a “Q”. This is default macOS behavior. If you press Cmd+W the same item is highlighted.

    Cheers,
    Niko
