I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm not sure what happened here, but I'll try to find out and give you instructions to resolve the issue.
After you deleted this folder
the synchronization should be off when you launch Timelime. So I doubt it has something to do with the sync.
Did you enable automatic backup in Timelime's preferences?
Please try this: Go to /Users/[your username]/Library/Group Containers/ and copy the folder Q66UC24GG4.com.timelimeapp to a safe location. (This folder contains your Timelime database with all your tasks and timings, so make sure it is safe.)
Then delete this folder from /Users/[your username]/Library/Group Containers/ and try to launch Timelime. Does it launch properly now?
