Bug Report
Selecting Automatically start Timelime after login gives error: "Couldn't add Helper App" to launch at login.
Is this a permissions error?

Hi Nicholas,
for some reason your operating system doesn't want to add Timelime to the login item list from within the sandboxed environment of the app. To troubleshoot the issue I would need more information.
I think it's easiest if you just do the following:
Please go to "System Preferences" > "Users & Groups" > "Login Items" and add Timelime to the list of login items there.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Thank you,
Niko

Hi Niko,
Sure, no problem. Already done.
Just letting you guys know about this.
Any idea why this bug occurs? I like to fiddle in Mac programming so just curious.
Best,
Nicholas

Hi Nicholas,
thank you so much for letting me know about this.
I just looked into this issue. You are totally right: It is a bug. It appears since version 1.0.1 of the app.
It doesn't want to register the helper app as a login item because the info.plist file inside of the helper app bundle contains the wrong bundle identifier. The bundle identifier should be "com.timelimeapp.helper.com" instead of "com.timelimeapptest.helper.com".
I messed that up when submitting version 1.0.1 to the app store. I will fix this issue in version 1.1 which will be available in about two weeks.
Thanks again,
Niko

Ah, those plist files. Yeah, I understand.
Thanks for the quick and honest replies!
On a slightly different note, a small feature I hope you can add in a future update.
Could you have either a default task to start recording at startup, or a pop-up menu that asks what you are working on? It would help with those forgetful mornings.
Keep up the good work!
Best,
Nicholas
